be|at|i|fy «bee AT uh fy», transitive verb, -fied, -fy|ing.
1. to make supremely happy; bless.
2. to declare (a dead person) by a decree of the Pope to be among the blessed in heaven and to deserve religious honor. The person beatified is thereafter entitled “Blessed.”
